Job Description

This position requires working onsite at the customer’s mine site on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation schedule.

Who will you be working with?

You will act as the primary onsite technical interface between the customer and Wabtec, collaborating closely with Product Support Engineers (PSEs), engineering teams, and service delivery teams while interacting with site crews and operational stakeholders.

How will you make a difference?

Ensure high-quality installations of Collision Awareness Systems (CAS) and provide expert troubleshooting and commissioning support, playing a vital role in knowledge transfer and site capability building.

What do we want to know about you?

Required

• Trade qualification in HD Auto Electrical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
• Strong diagnostic capability across hardware, software, configuration, and integrated systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Desirable

• Experience with Collision Awareness Systems or related technologies.
• Mining or heavy industrial site experience.
• Commissioning safety-critical systems experience.
• Exposure to software-enabled systems.
• Experience in rostered onsite engagements.

Typical Day

Provide specialist onsite support for CAS installations, diagnose complex issues, support equipment readiness activities, identify installation risks, upskill site personnel, assist with software updates, and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

Role Purpose

The Technical Specialist – Onsite Support ensures high-quality delivery and effective troubleshooting while serving as a strong technical interface between Wabtec and the customer.
