We are looking for dedicated Early Years and Primary teachers, as well as Secondary teachers in the following subjects:  


Maths / Science / English / French / History / Geography / PE / ICT / Art / Dance  & Spanish


Those with experience teaching IGCSEs and the UK National Curriculum will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities


As a teacher at Chartwell International School, you will focus on delivering high-quality instruction while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:


Understanding the Content


  • Deep knowledge of the subject: You will ensure a deep, flexible understanding of the content you teach, including anticipating student misconceptions and using strategies to address them.
  • Curriculum sequencing: You will align your teaching with the curriculum’s broader goals, ensuring students’ learning progresses smoothly through carefully sequenced lessons.


Maximising Opportunity to Learn


  • Efficient classroom management: You will manage time and resources efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions and maximising learning time.
  • Clear instructions and routines: You will implement clear, structured routines and instructions so students always know what is expected, contributing to a calm, productive environment.
  • Behaviour management: You will set and maintain high standards for behaviour, applying rules consistently to create a classroom where students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn.


Creating a Supportive Environment


  • Positive relationships: You will build strong, respectful relationships with your students, promoting an atmosphere of mutual trust, empathy, and care.
  • High expectations with well-being in mind: You will encourage students to challenge themselves, while fostering their emotional and social well-being, ensuring they feel confident and supported as they take risks in their learning.
  • Fostering motivation: You will cultivate a positive learning climate where students are motivated, feel capable of success, and enjoy their time in school.


Activating Hard Thinking


  • Structured lessons: You will create well-sequenced learning tasks that gradually move students toward independent learning, ensuring all students can engage deeply with the content.
  • Clear explanations: You will present new ideas clearly, connect them to prior knowledge, and provide varied examples to help students understand and retain the material.
  • Embedding learning: You will design tasks that reinforce and embed learning, ensuring students practice and revisit key concepts until they master them.
  • Effective questioning: You will use questioning techniques to promote deeper thinking, check for understanding, and guide students towards greater insight and independence.


Qualifications


We are seeking enthusiastic Early Years, Primary, and Secondary teachers with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant subjects. More importantly, we are looking for educators who are passionate about delivering evidence-based teaching, creating supportive and structured learning environments, and enhancing student well-being and engagement. Native-level fluency in English and deep subject knowledge are essential!
