We are looking for a Sustainability Manager, who will be responsible for the post-consumer recycling growth strategy in the Market for Chile and Uruguay.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing initiatives for the recycling and collection of used beverage cartoons.
You will be based in Santiago de Chile, Chile at our Tetra Pak Office.
This position requires 20% of travel.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.
What you will do
As Sustainability Manager, you will:
- Drive sustainability programs to implement the Tetra Pak Group strategy in the assigned Market. The major focus is on developing collection and recycling programs for post-consumer packages - either independently or in collaboration with other third parties.
- Secure sustainability in our portfolio is recognized in the Market by supporting the Marketing and front-office teams.
- Helps the Sustainability Transformation Directors with the deployment of any toolkits and training, also providing feedback on customer needs and insights from engagements with customers in the Market.
- Manage local investment projects in recycling and/or collection.
- Prepare business cases.
- Monitor project development, installation, commissioning and performance.
- Secure compliance with local collection/recycling regulations/targets as applicable.
- Secure reliable accounting and reporting of collection/recycling rates.
- Control and manage the budget for activities related to the programs.
- Understand and maintain close collaboration with PRO's (Producer Responsibility Organizations) from EPR (Extender Producer Responsibility Law) system.
Profile description:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years experience in managing programs related to sustainability, environment, waste management and post-consumer recycling.
- Deep Knowledge with EPR regulations in Chile (Ley REP).
- English language Fluent (written and spoken) is required
- Proven experience in project management
- Good public presentations skills
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI
- Solid knowledge of social media
- Good communication and stakeholders management
- Food industry experience is a plus
