Overview
NHS Lanarkshire is seeking to recruit an additional hard-working and enthusiastic candidate to a Specialty Doctor in Acute and General Medicine. This is a mixed General (Internal) Medicine and Acute medicine post.
Responsibilities
The postholder will be expected to contribute to the general medical on-call rota (senior tier) around one evening per week and weekend day shift cover (around 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks). No planned nightshift commitment is required.
Daytime Duties
The role includes daytime duties in acute medicine (medical assessment, ambulatory emergency care unit, and high dependency unit) as well as some rotational duties on downstream specialty wards based on service or training requirements. The post-holder will always be under the direct or indirect supervision of a consultant.
SPA Proposals
Proposals for additional SPA time from applicants are encouraged. The Board supports applications for extra SPA time from individuals with innovative service improvement ideas who demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, Medical Education, Research & Development, or other related areas.
Teaching and Honorary Status
The University of Glasgow has strong ties with NHS Lanarkshire, and medical students benefit from excellent educational opportunities.
