Role Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Technical Accountant with hands-on US GAAP experience to join a growing finance team. This is not a general accounting role — we need someone who has directly prepared or reviewed lease accounting under ASC 842 and supported 409A valuations and stock-based compensation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors on complex accounting areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Own lease accounting under ASC 842 - classification, ROU asset and liability schedules, modifications, remeasurements, and related disclosures.
• Support 409A valuation processes - coordinate with valuation providers, prepare supporting data (cap table, financials, comparable inputs), and review draft reports.
• Prepare and record stock-based compensation entries under ASC 718, and maintain equity-related schedules.
• Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and close checklists.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and audit-ready documentation for complex transactions.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors on lease and equity accounting areas.
• Assist with US GAAP financial statement preparation and disclosures.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in US GAAP environments.
• Direct, demonstrable ASC 842 experience (implementation or ongoing compliance, not theoretical) - non-negotiable.
• Exposure to 409A valuations and/or ASC 718 stock-based compensation accounting.
• Public accounting background (Big Four or large regional firm) or experience at a US company or startup.
• Advanced English (C1+), comfortable in daily communication with US stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in a major ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks).
• Prior remote work experience and fluency with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Asana).

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant overlap with US business hours.
• Experience supporting audits end-to-end alongside external auditors.
• Prior experience at a startup or fast-growing company.
