Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Santiago, Chile
Division: El Pachón Project
Reports to: Engineering Manager

About The El Pachón Project

El Pachón is a significant copper and molybdenum deposit located in San Juan, Argentina, positioned between 3,600 and 4,200 meters above sea level and about 5 kilometers from the Chilean border.

Qualifications

• Professional Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with large copper concentrators is desirable.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of mechanical projects, ensuring quality and safety.
• Provide senior technical leadership in design and engineering for copper concentrator plants.
• Support conceptual and feasibility phases for concentrators.

Operational Context

• Work within a high-performing engineering team on projects.
• Handle engineering tasks related to mechanical systems of concentrator processing circuits.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.

Control Elements

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and review design documentation.
• Monitor quality indicators, costs, and safety.

Experience and Skills

• Proven background in mechanical engineering design and operations.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management and structural analysis techniques.
• Experience leading project studies and technical reviews.

Direct Reports: Engineers and Designers.
Internal Relationships: Engineering team members, Project Controls, and Procurement teams.
External Relationships: Consultants, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
