About the Role

As part of the Ubuntu Foundations Engineering team, you'll maintain and enhance the Ubuntu bootloader stack, crucial for system reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a distributed team
• Define boot architecture focusing on server, desktop, IoT, and cloud
• Write high-quality code and contribute to upstream projects like Grub and u-boot
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews
• Debug and resolve issues effectively
• Work remotely with occasional global travel

Required Qualifications

• Experience with early boot software and non x86 platforms
• Strong background in Linux and software development
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Motivated and self-driven attitude
