Postdoctoral Research Position – Plasma Physics 🌎
The Faculty of Physics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join its experimental and Plasma Physics Group – UC. This position focuses on studying plasma-liquid interactions and the selective production of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) relevant for electrochemical synthesis.
⚡ Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and commissioning of gliding arc and/or DBD plasma reactors to optimize RONS production.
- Conduct hands-on experimental research on plasma-liquid interactions, utilizing absorption and emission spectroscopy, electrical characterization, fast imaging, and other diagnostic techniques.
- Collaborate with both plasma physics and electrochemical research teams in the analysis and discussion of results.
- Prepare and submit scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
🎓 Candidate Profile:
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Practical experience in experimental plasma physics and/or electrical discharges.
- Knowledge of high-voltage equipment and associated safety practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in English (Spanish is an asset but not mandatory).
