Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a registered Occupational Therapist to join the Band 5 rotation within the Occupational Therapy services at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

Rotation Details

This varied and interesting rotation provides experience within acute services for a period of 6 months in the following clinical teams:

  • VHK - Stroke and Critical Care (including ICU)
  • Orthopaedics (elective and trauma, including the National Treatment Centre)
  • Surgical
  • Acute Medicine
  • Medicine of the Elderly
  • Palliative Care

Required Skills

You should possess skills in assessing and treating patients' physical, cognitive, psychological, and environmental needs, demonstrating a sound knowledge of the occupational therapy process.

Support and Development

Requirements

This position requires participation in weekend working. The Occupational Therapy service promotes continuing professional development through regular supervision, TURAS, an in-service programme, and training.

Travel Requirements

You must have the ability to travel throughout Fife in a timely manner as required. There may be opportunities for the role to extend to other NHS localities.

Commuting

Fife has good public transport links and is easily commutable from the central belt, including Edinburgh, with car share and active travel options available.
