Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our Maintenance Team within the NHS Central Acute Sector.

Qualifications Required

You should have completed an appropriate recognised electrical apprenticeship, with qualifications and experience in mechanical and plumbing disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

The duties involve installation and modifications to domestic electrical systems, air conditioning, generators, boiler plants, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and more.

Certification Required

You must be qualified to IEE Reg's 18th Edition, hold a City & Guilds Testing & Inspection qualification, and have relevant qualifications for mechanical and plumbing disciplines.

Working Conditions

This post is based at Victoria Hospital, but work will be required anywhere within the Central Acute Sector. You will also cover an on-call practice with other tradesmen.

Salary and Employment Information

Your salary will depend on your qualifications, knowledge, and experience. From 1/4/26, the full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours, with a corresponding increase in hourly rates.

Legal Requirements

Membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required prior to appointment. Legal permission to work in the UK as per UK Visa and Immigration Services guidelines is essential.
