Lead Scala Developer

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reliable software solutions using Scala.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and create effective technical plans.
  • Enhance application scalability and optimize performance for high-throughput systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership during project discovery, design, and development phases.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture and codebases.
  • Operate within Agile methodologies to deliver projects efficiently and iteratively.
  • Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Identify opportunities to refine workflows, processes, and development best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience managing and leading development teams.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable systems for high-performance applications.
  • Strong understanding of system design, project discovery, and implementation processes.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Experience working in Agile environments to ensure efficient and iterative workflows.
  • Proven ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively within development teams.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

  • Experience with backend development using PHP.
  • Knowledge of gRPC for creating efficient communication systems.
