Lead Scala Developer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Scala Developer to join our team and take ownership of designing and delivering scalable, high-performance software solutions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build and implement dependable software solutions using Scala.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop effective technical strategies.
  • Improve scalability and optimize performance of applications for high-throughput environments.
  • Provide technical leadership during project discovery, design, and implementation stages.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture and codebases.
  • Work within Agile frameworks to ensure iterative and efficient project delivery.
  • Mentor junior developers and foster a cohesive and productive team environment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to workflows, processes, and development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 1 year of experience in leading and managing development teams.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Expertise in designing and building scalable systems for high-performance applications.
  • Strong knowledge of system design, project discovery, and implementation methodologies.
  • Ability to produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks to support efficient workflows.
  • Proven track record of mentoring team members and collaborating effectively within development teams.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, at a B2 level or higher.

Nice to Have

  • Background in backend development using PHP.
  • Familiarity with gRPC for designing efficient communication systems.
