About The Role
This Investment Office role will support the Minerals Americas business by ensuring high quality for its major investment requests, while supporting pipeline management and governance at a regional level. It needs to work closely and collaboratively with the various project development teams across the business to produce proper framing, clear storytelling, and polished technical writing to enable senior stakeholder decision making. This role also needs to uplift and drive improvement in the business’ technical writing skills by coaching and demonstrating best practice for the teams.
By monitoring the progress of the projects and providing clear advice to the teams, this role will assist them to successfully navigate and comply with BHP’s Investment Management Governance, while supporting the management of capital costs.
Main Accountabilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews over all key investment management documents before they go to senior stakeholders.
- Maintain routines with these stakeholders to ensure proper scheduling of documents and a clear understanding of the investment approval pipeline.
- Assist the Regional Investment Review Committee (IRC) secretary with meeting preparation and administration.
- Lead the execution of region-wide priority projects and support improvement initiatives.
- Confidently present ideas and recommendations to influence internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in written communications to coach authors and uplift writing skills.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to provide assistance as needed.
This is a high-exposure position involving numerous major copper projects.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
- A degree qualification in Business/Finance, Law, or Engineering.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in a large corporate or professional environment focused on complex document writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement ability, and both autonomous and collaborative work skills.
- Exceptional writing capabilities to develop investment management papers for the BHP Board or Executive suite.
- Creative thinking skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify improvement opportunities.
- Structured approach with attention to detail, capable of simplifying complex matters.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
- Knowledge of project management and investment evaluation processes.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
