IT Support Lead

Position Overview

This position reports to the IT Manager within the ALMA Computing Department (ADC) and is responsible for planning and overseeing the IT support services to ALMA daily operations. It provides direct supervision to the IT Support team and participates as an active technical member of the group.

Leadership and Collaboration

The role requires leadership in supporting computing systems and cyber-security implementation while coordinating all activities of the IT Support team to ensure efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include managing the Microsoft Windows operating system platform, ensuring best practices and security policies are met, coordinating logistics and shift schedules for IT support staff, and providing feedback to technical support staff.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience with at least five years in providing IT support, knowledge in operating systems, and experience in procurement and logistics are mandatory.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a central office environment with high altitude location requirements, and candidates must possess valid Chilean work permits. Willingness to travel and perform OnCall services is necessary.
