Inventory Accounting Analyst

Inventory Accounting Analyst

Purpose of the Position: To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of accounting records related to inventory, purchase and sales transactions, customs duties, and financial analysis. To provide support to the Senior Accounting Coordinator in managing accounting processes and ensuring compliance with current accounting standards.


Main Functions:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Record the accounting entries for inventory inflows and outflows, ensuring correct valuation and reconciliation.
  • Analyze inventory variations and propose accounting adjustments when necessary.
  • Participate in physical inventories and reconcile the results with accounting records.
  • Consider shrinkage/waste/defective products.
  • Transaction Management:
  • Accurately record purchases, sales, shipping guides, and other transactions related to the company's operations.
  • Perform import reconciliations and maintain contact with the logistics department to obtain information promptly.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports required by management and direct supervisors.
  • Customs Duties:
  • Manage accounting processes related to imports and exports, including the calculation and payment of customs duties.
  • Stay up-to-date on applicable customs and tax regulations.
  • ERP Management:
  • Configure and use the ERP system to manage accounting processes, review reports, reconciliations, and costing.
  • Account Analysis:
  • Perform detailed analysis of accounting accounts to identify and correct errors related to inventory and imports.
  • Support to Senior Accounting Coordinator:
  • Assist the Senior Accounting Coordinator in preparing financial statements.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of new accounting processes.
  • Participate in special projects in the accounting area.
  • Provide support in monthly and annual closing tasks.
  • Support in the review of monthly taxes.
  • Provide any other required support.


Candidate Profile:


Education: Professional degree in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field.


Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in similar functions, preferably in industrial or service companies.


Technical Knowledge:

  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Corporate and customs taxes.
  • ERP systems (any that have managed inventory)
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.).
