Role Overview
As an Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will maintain all user-facing services and GitLab's production systems efficiently. Your role blends operational excellence with software engineering, using your expertise in networking and systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable networking infrastructure.
- Collaborate on projects to enhance GitLab’s offerings.
- Participate in incident management on a rotating schedule.
- Lead projects from definition to execution.
- Specialize in our networking and rate-limiting services.
- Automate all operational tasks.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Google Cloud Platform networking.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Programming skills in Ruby or Go.
- Understanding of network protocols and observability tools.
- Independent, proactive mindset with strong communication skills.
About The Team
The Production Engineering Foundations team manages GitLab's networking infrastructure, facing unique challenges that impact users daily. We emphasize automation to improve scalability and reliability.
Compensation
The base salary for this role ranges from $103,600 to $222,000 USD, depending on location and experience.
