Bechtel is acting as Project Management Consultant (PMC) for Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi's C20+, which will install a desalination plant at Puerto Patache (Tarapacá region) that will optimize the current operation and extend its useful life. Water from this plant will be transported via a pipeline from the coast to the mine site, located at 4,400 meters above sea level. The water supply system's scope includes the supply of lined pipe, marine works and desalination, pump stations and pipelines, as well as the electrical transmission system and camps. As PMC, Bechtel will manage engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and other activities, including control and verification that all work performed by contractors complies with the schedule, specifications, regulations, codes, standards and engineering practices identified in the contracts. Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical equipment packages in copper concentrator plant, with the ability to lead the mechanical team, develop interviews with customers and sellers to determine the scope of work, technical and design definitions, in addition to quantity and cost estimates for the mechanical aspects of the scope of a project. You will lead the progress control of the project, its administration, and management. Must have the necessary knowledge for the design review, development, modification and/or evaluation of mechanical components and processes and interrelation with other disciplines. Major Responsibilities: Coordinating and managing the team of mechanics and technical leader responsible for the documents and activities scheduled for the project. It is a mandatory requirement to have experience leading work teams.Reviewing and, if applicable, carrying out the design of equipment and mechanical systems for projects in the mining industry, including pumps (water and sludge distribution networks), grinding circuits and other related. Proven experience in process equipment of a copper concentrator is essential requirement.Reviewing and if applicable, performing calculations and analyses that lead to technical design recommendations.Responsible for material requests, specifications, data sheets and other technical documents related to mechanical equipment procurement.Assisting and leading in the evaluation of suppliers and technical evaluations of tenders.Coordinating with mechanical designers to produce designs and drawings according to project standards.Coordinating and supervising with P&ID mechanical designers to produce drawings according to the project standards.Coordinating the work and collaborate with other disciplines and engineering areas of the Company.Reviewing and/or developing conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.Providing technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interacting with the project functions and the client, to solve complex regulatory problems with knowledge of codes and industry standards.Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 15 years of specific relevant work experience in mining.
