Position Summary
Housekeeping Manager owns the guests experience related to cleanliness and visual impressions onboard, offering a seamless execution of premium service that is both exceptional and memorable.
This individual must possess outstanding hospitality, communication, and organizational skills, alongside effective decision-making abilities.
Full ownership and accountability for maintenance and cleanliness are essential as is the flawless delivery of all services to meet high expectations.
He/she excels at establishing and maintaining a positive working environment and manages performance expectations through open and frequent communication.
Excellent training, leadership development, and recognition skills with supervisors and crew members are crucial, ensuring team members deliver exceptional customer service to guests through flawless execution of their responsibilities.
This position may involve additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.
All responsibilities must align with the Company's Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards and Royal Caribbean International’s brand standards.
Professional and courteous conduct is expected in every interaction with guests and fellow employees.
Qualifications
Two to three years of progressive Housekeeping managerial experience is preferred, ideally in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety procedures is essential.
Knowledge of talent assessment techniques, quality service standards, and leadership development skills is key for front-line employees and junior management.
Working knowledge of computers and various software packages, such as Excel and Word, is necessary.
A solid understanding of financial aspects, budgeting, and cost containment is important for effective management.
Strong results-oriented management style with proven success is required.
Ability to communicate diplomatically with managers and resolve problems is crucial.
Flexibility to manage and encourage a dynamic, diverse Housekeeping operation in changing environments is a must.
Passing the Omnia Assessment for Behavior and Cognitive ability is required.
Language Requirements
- Good knowledge of English is required; speaking additional languages like Spanish is preferred.
