Position Name: High School Spanish Teacher Reports to: High School Principal and NP Teaching and Learning Coordinator Time commitment: Full-time Qualifications and Experience University degree: Spanish Teacher for Secondary Education (7 -12). IB Spanish teaching experience and IB Spanish training (preferred). Spanish teaching experience using the Chilean Curriculum. Experience with competency based learning or standards-based learning (preferred). Solid conceptual and applied knowledge of current research and trends in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues. A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in high school. English proficiency (required). Willingness to explore, embrace, and value Chilean culture. Understanding and appreciation of multicultural contexts. Main Duties and Responsibilities Participate in the annual Week Without Walls program. Engage in the co-curricular program at Nido by advising a club or coaching an athletic team. Serve as an Advisor for a small group of 8-12 high school students. Collaborate with the Spanish department to further develop and improve the Spanish curriculum- this includes participating in weekly curricular planning meetings with course-alike teaching partners. Teach five sections of Spanish courses. Engage in the Nido community by promoting a positive, collaborative school culture. Contribute to fostering the mission, vision, and values of Nido.
