About The Role
The role of the Head of Sales Gourmet South Latam is key for our chocolate business in the region. This position will be responsible for the Gourmet and Beverage businesses in South Latam (Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia). The individual will manage a comprehensive customer base, ensuring the achievement of defined goals and monitoring sales KPIs while visiting the market.
This person will liaise between the company's departments to facilitate commercial negotiations. They will develop sales to customers classified as Gourmet and Beverages, focusing on growing top-line sales and bottom-line profit in the cluster.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Manage the Sales Forecast Process (Local & imported).
- Align monthly and quarterly sales numbers with MD Brazil (Budget vs Signoff).
- Maintain strong cross-functional relationships with CSD and other support areas.
- Lead business presentations to senior management.
- Focus on Solution Selling & Innovation, Reliability, and Leveraging Scale in our Chocolate Business strategy.
- Monitor sales evolution within the customer base.
- Expand the customer base by identifying lead opportunities and developing new customers.
- Conduct market visits to prospect new customers and strengthen existing relationships.
- Control and monitor contracts with the customer service, pricing, and controllership teams.
- Facilitate the company's sales processes by interacting with other departments.
- Update the Sales Force system with details of the sales operation.
- Forecast customer growth plans in line with sustainable company growth.
- Drive growth of SCO and annual volumes of the entire product range sold to global customers through new product development.
- Partner with other Directors to gain synergies and leverage existing customer relationships.
- Negotiate and close multi-year agreements to deliver value for both Barry Callebaut and customers.
- Ensure compliance with long-term supply agreement terms and conditions.
- Manage travel budgets, salary allocations, bonus targets, and business units for direct reports.
- Direct business activities while ensuring profitability and volume growth.
- Provide strategic advice to the MD and develop cost-effective business strategies based on market insights.
- Support the MD on Gourmet & Beverage business strategies for South Latin America.
- Act as an influencer within developing countries and clusters.
- Develop and execute business strategies to achieve both short and long-term goals.
- Communicate company policies and legal guidelines clearly.
- Build relationships with external experts and agencies through seminars, conferences, and professional networking.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or similar.
- Relevant qualifications or practical experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, and Sales Force.
- Native Spanish speaker and fluent in English; Portuguese highly desired.
- 10 years of sales experience in a multinational environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Good understanding of corporate law, branding, and product positioning.
