Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, you will serve as the senior strategic owner of our most critical revenue drivers: Paid Search (SEM) and SEO analytics. You will be responsible for building the strategic framework, establishing agency accountability, and converting our search ecosystem into a structured, scalable growth engine that drives measurable ROI.
Beyond managing high-level budgets, you will collaborate with the CEO, COO, CFO, and CTO to harmonize our digital presence, define performance best practices, and lay the groundwork for long-term in-house capabilities. You aren't just managing a channel; you are architecting the performance marketing DNA and building the engine that will turn our current momentum into a permanent competitive advantage.
- Own end-to-end strategy across paid search (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads) and SEO analytics with full accountability for revenue, efficiency targets and profitability.
- Harmonize paid and organic, identifying coverage gaps and opportunities to shift spend toward the highest-ROI strategies.
- Drive continuous optimization of bidding strategies, audience targeting, testing, and feed management across all search campaigns.
- Monitor the evolving landscape, adapting to AI-powered search (SGE/AIO) and LLM-driven discovery to maintain our market lead.
- Develop quarterly and annual search strategies, budgets, and forecasts aligned with aggressive company revenue goals.
- Serve as the strategic director for our external SEM agency, setting clear KPIs, reporting, and rigorous accountability frameworks.
- Assess long-term resource needs, creating a roadmap for building high-performing internal search teams and capabilities.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Content, and Engineering teams to ensure search initiatives are integrated into the product roadmap.
- Establish a performance cadence, with weekly operational reporting, monthly executive reviews and quarterly assessments.
- Build executive-ready dashboards that translate complex search data into clear business narratives.
- Partner with the CTO and data teams to strengthen attribution, analytics infrastructure, search performance, and reporting accuracy.
- Partner with the VP of Marketing to ensure search insights inform brand, content, and broader marketing direction.
- Work with the COO/GM of E-Commerce on conversion rate optimization, product merch alignment, and landing page priorities.
- Collaborate with the CFO on financial forecasting, ROI modeling, and budget business cases.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in performance, digital, or growth marketing, with significant depth in SEM.
- 5+ years in e-commerce environments where search is the primary revenue driver.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing and directing external agency partners or internal teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing $5M+ annual search/digital budgets with clear ROAS and CAC accountability.
- Experience in B2B e-commerce, automotive aftermarket, industrial distribution, or high-SKU marketplace models.
- Deep technical expertise in Google Ads (Search, Shopping, PMax), GA4, Google Merchant Center and feed management.
- Highly analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, Looker Studio, Snowflake, and Tableau + the ability to interpret complex data.
- Strong executive communication skills, capable of translating data into strategic action for C-suite stakeholders.
- Driven by a unique blend of rigorous technical expertise and creative curiosity, with a passion for driving bottom of funnel performance and sustainable growth.
- AI/LLM Expertise: Knowledge of AI-driven search optimization (AEO/AIO) or experience building AI marketing agents.
- Scale Experience: A track record of scaling a function from agency-dependent to a hybrid or in-house model.
