What this job involves:
Join JLL as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist in Santiago, Chile, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring workplace safety and regulatory compliance across our facility operations. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact employee safety and organizational success while working with cross-functional teams to implement comprehensive EHS programs.
You'll serve as a key safety resource, collaborating with operations, engineering, and vendor partners to maintain the highest standards of environmental health and safety that meet JLL, client, and statutory requirements. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on implementation, making you an essential contributor to JLL's commitment to creating safe, compliant work environments.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering Staff to review Job Hazard Analyses and provide construction/project EHS oversight while supporting contractor HASP reviews
- Conduct regular safety walks, facility inspections, and hazard assessments to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies across all operational areas
- Manage vendor partnerships ensuring compliance with JLL requirements, including contractor qualification, performance monitoring, and coordination of high-risk activities
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures aligned with ISO 14001-45001 standards, corporate policies, and local regulations while maintaining comprehensive safety documentation
- Conduct EHS training programs including new employee orientations, job-specific safety training, and regulatory compliance education for all facility personnel
- Support incident investigations with root cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and maintain detailed documentation and reporting systems
- Monitor EHS performance metrics, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and contribute to account-wide performance dashboards while ensuring proper maintenance of safety equipment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field with professional certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience implementing and managing comprehensive EHS programs and management systems within facility operations or industrial environments
- Extensive experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications including audit preparation, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement processes
- Proven expertise in high-hazard prevention programs including Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO), electrical safety, confined space entry, and fall protection systems
- Demonstrated success managing regulatory compliance with local and international environmental health and safety regulations
- Strong experience working with subcontractors and vendors to achieve mutual safety objectives while maintaining operational efficiency
- Excellent communication skills with ability to conduct training, facilitate meetings, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional safety certifications such as CSP, CIH, or equivalent professional credentials in occupational health and safety
- Experience with emergency preparedness planning, business continuity planning, and coordination with local emergency services
- Knowledge of permit systems, pre-work assessments, and specialized contractor coordination for high-risk activities
- Familiarity with EHS performance dashboard development, data analysis, and metrics reporting for management presentations
- Experience in safety culture development initiatives and participation in safety committee leadership roles
- Background in shipping/receiving operations and understanding of logistics safety requirements
- Proficiency with EHS management software platforms and digital documentation systems
