Duties and Responsibilities

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, founded in 1948, aims to contribute to regional economic and social development. Interns will work in the Statistics Division, engaging in research on the importance of official statistics for democracy. Key tasks include:

  • Assisting in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes.
  • Supporting the preparation of reports on external sector statistics.
  • Contributing to statistical database organization.
  • Collaborating on special projects related to economic statistics.

Qualifications/Special Skills

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in or completed a bachelor's program or equivalent.
  • Enrolled in or completed a graduate program.

Relevant field of study is required. Candidates should provide proof of eligibility in their application.

Languages

Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of English, French, or another official UN language is advantageous.

Additional Information

No financial remuneration is provided. Interns must cover their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses. The UN does not charge fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
