Company Description

Contest Title: "Lights, Camera, Impact! Your Lens for Change in Santiago"

Objective: To find a talented and passionate documentary filmmaker and photographer to document the work of Kids Share Workshops (KSW) with teens in Santiago, Chile.

Contest: A 2.5-month trip to Santiago, Chile, from October 1 to December 3, 2025, to work with middle school-aged, displaced, refugee, and disadvantaged teens. The prize includes travel, accommodations, and two meals daily. The winner will also receive credit for their work related to KSW media, including book/documentary film. This opportunity may lead to continued paid work in other countries.

Eligibility: The contest is open to both professionals and interns with some field experience.

Desirable Skills: OTT experience/submitting footage and basic to conversational Spanish language skills. Experience working with teenagers on school grounds is also desirable.


Contest Entry Requirements:

Judging Criteria:

  • Demonstrated filmmaking and photography skills
  • Experience working with youth or in similar environments
  • Artistic expression and storytelling ability
  • Understanding and sensitivity towards vulnerable populations
  • Overall quality and creativity of the submitted portfolio

Selection Process: The Kids Share Publishing Board of Directors and Kids Share Workshops, LLC Team Leaders will conduct interviews.

Additional Information: The selected filmmaker/photographer will work alongside the senior program director and communications director. The role involves filming and photographing South American teens, capturing their experiences, and positively reflecting on the community, which KSW is reaching. The filmmaker will also participate in a 5-7 day team excursion into the Andes Mountains. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in potentially challenging weather conditions and sensitive to refugee and disadvantaged teen groups, respecting privacy while capturing the emotional impact of the workshop.
