Director of Operations & Quality
Type of contract: Indefinite, full-time
Location: Puerto Varas Office
The Operations & Quality Team is responsible for Kura’s industrial scale-up, global supply chain, and quality assurance. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the Production, Logistics, and Quality departments to transform innovation into reliable, high-standard products. Our mission is to achieve Operational Excellence by bridging the gap between scientific rigor and manufacturing agility, ensuring we deliver consistently from our Patagonia facilities to our partners worldwide. You will lead by fostering high accountability and ensuring your team has the support to reach its full potential.
What you’ll do
- Strategic Leadership & Alignment: Act as the bridge between Kura’s roadmap and daily execution, empowering managers across Production, Quality, and Supply Chain. You are the ultimate point of escalation, partnering with key leaders to resolve high-complexity friction, from supply chain crises to technical roadblocks, ensuring the team maintains the high-performance culture required for global growth.
- Operational Mastery: Guarantee reliable global delivery by supervising the production lifecycle and quality standards. You facilitate R&D-to-manufacturing transfers, ensuring managers have the resources to scale and acting as a senior partner to resolve critical technical roadblocks and optimize manufacturing flow.
- Systems, Planning & Tech Integration: Lead the production planning and reporting strategy, owning the area’s P&L, inventory health, and cost control. You drive digital transformation by empowering your team to integrate AI and controlling tools across all areas, leveraging technology to eliminate manual friction and identify optimization points.
What you’ll need
- Leadership experience: 7–10 years managing and developing other managers and teams, ideally within operational, manufacturing, or technical environments.
- Academic background: Degree in Civil Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields. An MBA or Master’s in Operations is highly valued.
- The Scale-up "Grit": Experience in high-standard manufacturing (Biotech, Pharma, or complex Food-Tech). If you don't have a Biotech background, you must demonstrate an extreme ability to learn fast, adapt to non-standardized environments, and design processes from scratch.
- Core Competencies: Analytical Rigor to challenge forecasts against financial targets, Strategic Communication to translate operational complexity into executive insights, and a Hands-on Mindset to deep-dive into processes and resolve roadblocks on the ground.
- Language: Advanced English (C1) is required for daily interaction with global stakeholders.
