We are seeking a Director of Data Consulting to join our remote team. This executive position provides the chance to drive data-centric initiatives for international clients and set the vision for enterprise-level data solutions. You will engage with experts from various fields, fostering innovation and collaboration in a dynamic environment. This role enables you to leave a meaningful mark on client outcomes and the organization’s future.
Responsibilities
- Direct the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise data platforms and solutions that support strategic business goals
- Design and establish data architectures, including data lakes, advanced analytics systems, and reporting tools, utilizing top cloud services and modern data processing platforms
- Partner with business leaders, Solution Architects, and technical teams to transform requirements into robust, scalable data architectures
- Guide clients on best practices for data strategy, governance, and operational models to create resilient and effective data ecosystems
- Manage consulting projects and presales efforts, demonstrating advanced expertise in data engineering, management, and analytics
- Assess existing data landscapes, pinpoint areas for improvement, and suggest actionable steps to enhance data quality, accessibility, and governance
- Monitor advancements in the industry, including new technologies and methodologies in data management, AI/ML, and cloud, and integrate these into client solutions
- Support the development and implementation of accelerators, templates, and open-source assets to expand EPAM’s Data Service capabilities
- Champion best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring high standards in code quality and CI/CD adoption
- Present complex technical strategies and concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and informed choices
- Build and nurture lasting client partnerships, acting as a trusted advisor on all aspects of data technology and strategy
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years in IT, with at least 8 years in roles such as Data Technology Consultant, Data Architect, or similar positions on enterprise data projects
- Involvement in at least 10 major projects or experience in launching 3 or more products or significant product features to market
- Proven leadership in managing teams of 70+ FTEs or smaller groups with substantial business impact
- Advanced knowledge of data platforms and cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Expertise in data processing technologies like Databricks and MS Fabric for enterprise-scale solutions
- Advanced programming abilities in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data quality solutions to maintain high data standards
- Understanding of AI/ML technologies, such as natural language processing and computer vision
- Strong grasp of SDLC, CI/CD, and practices that ensure quality-driven software delivery
- Comprehensive understanding of data architecture, lifecycle management, and enterprise data product development
- Practical experience in delivering large-scale data solutions, including data lakes, analytics environments, and reporting platforms
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of creating and implementing innovative data solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and business teams to develop and execute effective data strategies
- Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex data initiatives with tangible business results
- Excellent organizational skills, adept at juggling multiple projects and priorities
- Proficiency in English at C1 level, with strong verbal and written communication
- Consulting acumen, including stakeholder engagement, client relationship management, and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Capacity to stay current with industry developments, perform market and competitor research, and apply insights to strategic planning
