CPR Coordinator / Part Time

The Resuscitation Program Coordinator provides personal care and professional excellence by managing the instructional and clerical responsibilities of the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center and assisting Nursing Education.

Primary Job Responsibilities The activities outlined below reflect the general duties considered necessary for the principle functions of the job as identified, and shall not be considered a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

  • Adhere to AHA Training Center requirements for programs and instructors in order to maintain AHA Training Center accreditation.
  • Maintain current rosters of available courses, instructors, and external training sites.
  • Complete performance appraisals of instructors per AHA Training Center guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to monitor and maintain appropriate resuscitation certification for Wood County Hospital employees who have resuscitation certification employment requirements.
  • Organize, publicize, and coordinate resuscitation courses as well as appropriate instructors and materials.
  • Collaborate with Wood County Hospital employees, external organizations, and community members for enrollment in appropriate courses, procurement of certification cards, and payment. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS instructor certification required or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Previous experience with AHA Training Center requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of AHA Training Center requirements for maintained accreditation status.
  • Knowledge of infection control and blood-borne pathogen practices.
  • Demonstration of ability to work with and teach clients of all ages
  • Demonstration of effective problem solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and team work skills.
  • Demonstration of effective verbal and written communication, including discussing business opportunities with outside agencies.
  • Demonstration of positive customer service.
  • Demonstration of ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changes in workload. Equipment/Tools/Software
  • Basic computer literacy (keyboarding, data entry and retrieval, word processing) required.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using all instrumentation/equipment utilized in the assigned department(s)/area(s) including but not limited to mannequins, simulation devices, and airway devices.
  • Demonstration of ability to manage learners and processes in the Learning Management System, AHA resource website, and affiliated organizations supporting the AHA Training Center.
