Commissioning Engineer - Solar / BESS Project

On behalf of ICT company Huawei Technologies, we are looking for: Commissioning Engineer - Solar / BESS.


Responsabilities:

  1. Monitor and report on construction and commissioning progress to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
  2. Maintain accurate records of project status, issues, corrective actions, and change orders.
  3. Serve as the primary liaison between Huawei, BOP and client to ensure effective communication and timely issue resolution.
  4. Represent Huawei during cold and hot commissioning phases by leading meetings, tracking punch lists, coordinating schedules, and managing turnover documentation.
  5. Review Huawei’sr O&M manuals and commissioning plans; verify proper installation and perform pre-functional checks.
  6. Coordinate system energization sequencing; verify functional testing and startup procedures.
  7. Monitor Battery Management System (BMS), Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA, and any test controls to confirm integration and functionality.
  8. Confirm operational setpoints, alarm and trip logic, and overall system performance.
  9. Prepare or review reports on project progress, material usage, and costs, and recommend schedule adjustments as needed.



Work Experience and Knowledge:

  1. Education: Degree as Electrical Civil Engineer, Electronics Engineer with focus on renewable energy projects or equivalent. SEC register is mandatory.
  2. Other Professional: Electrical Engineer
  3. Language Skills: Fluency in spoken and written English.
  4. 8+ years’ experience as a Commissioning Manager, ideally with hands-on commissioning experience on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
  5. Experience or familiarity with PV, Eolic Energy Storage Systems.
  6. Knowledge of electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) systems applicable to energy storage facilities, including auxiliary systems, protection schemes, and control infrastructure
  7. Expertise in managing both Client and Contractor/Subcontractor relationships.
  8. Strong understanding of energy storage system design and operating principles, including battery integration, inverters, EMS, SCADA, and thermal control systems (preferred)
  9. Solid foundation in commissioning principles including construction completion, pre-commissioning, verification, safety protocols, and performance testing.
  10. Thorough knowledge of OSHA and NFPA safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash (NFPA 70E)
  11. Proficiency in relevant computer systems and commissioning software, with the ability to document, track, and manage commissioning activities efficiently.
