Clinical Support Worker - Oncology Day Unit

Role Overview

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, supporting a registered nurse. Duties will be performed unsupervised, focusing on maintaining hygiene, order, and safety within the ward environment.

Job Requirements

  • SVQ III in healthcare or equivalent experience in a caring role.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to perform patient care tasks in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Participation in the Personal Development Plan process for professional growth.
  • Basic IT proficiency.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Haemochromatosis and Polycythaemia.
  • Experience in venepuncture and Venesection.
  • Valid UK/EU/EEA driver’s license.

Contract Details

This is a permanent, full-time position (37 hours) based in Ward 11 Oncology at University Hospital Monklands. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
