We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cargo Flow Manager to join our dynamic team in Santiago, Chile. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service functions to drive revenue growth and expand market share. We are looking for a strong Cargo Flow Manager with cargo flow and team management experience, good communication and interpersonal skills. To excel in this role, you have to possess strong ability to analyse and interpret data and drive a regional team. Your responsibilities extend to optimization of full containers and thereafter maximizing the ships with Empty evacuation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a team in charge of following:

  • Consolidate, analyse and adjust container flow of laden containers with reactivity, to optimize Vessels filling factor according to line(s) interests.
  • Manage the cargo flow activity for the entrusted scope, ensuring that, within your scope of responsibilities, all processes per group standard are respected including (but not limited) to regional control, space management, reporting, routing control etc.
  • Ensure forecast consistency through building of consensus between commercial forecasts, bookings and actual loading.
  • Cargo flow is allocating the ports’ allocation and bookings prior vessel calling date. Deadline differs per service.
  • Create and Update Routing, ensure that routing instructed are followed and optimized.
  • Container Tracking of Special condition follow up.
  • Coordinate space & review empty evacuation plan with Logistics Team.
  • If any change to allocation, service rotation etc should be done. Cargo Flow will provide an action plan to Management for approval.

Cargo Flow Manager Is Also Expected Of The Following

  • Booking report, projections and analysis that will give the filling factor tendency to Line Management, commercial team and operation managers.
  • Provide Forecasts/projection over 3-4 weeks mentioning Reporting/compiling bookings forecasts/elements. Frequency as per defined by Line.
  • Discussing and monitoring current booking performance, raising concerns where either under or over performing.
  • Manage Equipment Imbalances with respective departments (Trade, Logistics etc)
  • Monitor costs (eg: Rollover, Storage costs etc)
  • Optimize processes and tools to harmonize across services.
  • Implement and create policies to help optimize services
  • Take initiatives and Propose Ideas (eg: Slot Swop with partners, or adhoc space purchase) when deemed necessary.

Must Have

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, commerce, or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of experience in trade, sales, and marketing within the container shipping, logistics, or liner industry.
  • Software Skills: Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Leadership Experience: Strong leadership abilities with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving performance.
