Position Overview
The Bar Waiter is responsible for providing professional and friendly beverage service to guests in lounges, bars, and public areas onboard. This role requires strong sales skills, product knowledge, and excellent guest service in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests and take drink orders in a courteous and efficient manner.
Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company standards.
Upsell and promote daily drink specials, wine packages, and beverage programs.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of bar service areas, including glassware and trays.
Deliver beverages promptly, ensuring correct preparation and presentation.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints with professionalism.
Follow company safety and hygiene regulations, including responsible alcohol service.
Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and bar setup/closure duties.
Collaborate with bartenders and other service staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or resort.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beers, and wines.
Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
Positive attitude, sales-oriented mindset, and guest service skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team.
Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol.
Willingness to live and work onboard for 6–8 month contracts.
Successful completion of medical exams and mandatory maritime certificates (e.g., STCW).
