Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Neurosurgery Department will work closely with surgeons, documenting verbal or telephone orders and progress notes in both hospital and clinic EMR systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on new admissions and consult patients.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and surgeons for patient care.
• Document medical records accurately and efficiently.
• Provide patient education aligned with medical care plans.

Call Expectations

Participate in a 1:3 night and weekend call rotation, including rounding with the surgeon during weekends and providing emergency coverage for first-assist duties.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Advanced Practice Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
• Preferred experience as APRN or PA.

Licensure

• Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Kansas and/or Missouri.
• BLS certification required.
