Our US-based client is a consumer products eCommerce business located in Batavia, IL, which imports private-label manufactured products to the United States and sells them online through Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Wayfair, Overstock.com, and to a select group of broker-dealers. The Video Editor / Graphic Designer (AI-First) will turn our extensive product photography and brand assets into high-impact videos and motion graphics for marketplace listings and social channels. This entry to mid-level role focuses on building video at scale using AI—image-to-video, text-to-video, generative motion, and automated editing—while also delivering conversion-driven graphics (thumbnails, A+ modules, infographics). The ideal candidate is a creative technologist who is fast, detail-oriented, and comfortable iterating in a seasonal eCommerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform still product/lifestyle photos into scroll-stopping videos using AI (image-to-video, motion frames, parallax/3D photo, camera moves, and animated product callouts).
- Generate supplemental footage with AI (virtual environments, product B-roll, hands/usage simulations) to fill gaps where live video is limited—while staying brand-true and compliant.
- Build motion-graphic templates (hooks, lower thirds, spec overlays, end cards) to scale variations across SKUs and marketplaces.
- Design high-conversion graphics: thumbnails/hero images, comparison charts, infographics, storefront banners, and A+ content modules aligned to marketplace specs.
- Create short-form variations (5–15s hooks, 9:16/1:1/16:9 crops) from master edits; automate captioning, resizing, and exports.
- Use AI tools for cleanup and enhancement (background removal/extension, object replacement, relighting, upscaling, noise reduction, auto-captions/VO).
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to translate briefs into storyboards/scripts; tailor creatives to improve CTR, watch-through, and conversion.
- Manage a reusable asset library (presets, prompts, LUTs, motion kits, brand styles) and maintain file hygiene/version control.
- Run lightweight A/B tests on hooks, thumbnails, and first frames; report learnings and iterate.
- Ensure deliverables meet platform requirements (dimensions, duration, file size, safe areas) and accessibility best practices (captions/contrast/legibility).
- 1+ years of experience in video editing, motion graphics, or graphic design (internships count).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience using AI for video/image workflows (e.g., image-to-video, generative fill, background/cleanup, VO cloning, upscaling, auto-captioning).
- Strong visual design: typography, layout, color, and product-forward storytelling tailored to marketplace and social.
- Organized and detail-driven; able to manage multiple projects, keep tidy timelines, and deliver on deadlines.
- Portfolio with examples of AI-assisted video from stills/mixed assets and conversion-oriented graphic design (links required).
- Familiarity with tools such as Sora, Runway, Pika, CapCut, Descript, Topaz, Midjourney/Firefly features, and AE expressions for automation.
- Knowledge of marketplace creative standards (Amazon/Walmart video modules, A+ content, image stacks, thumbnail best practices).
- Basic sound design/VO editing; prompt writing and lightweight scripting/automation to speed repeatable tasks.
- Understanding of how creative impacts CTR/ACOS/ROAS; comfort reading simple performance dashboards.
- Build a reusable AI-video toolkit (prompts, presets, motion templates) to convert stills into platform-ready videos at scale.
- Produce video + graphic packages for top SKUs (hero video, 2–3 short hooks, thumbnail set, A+ visuals).
- Establish a rapid A/B testing loop for thumbnails and first-frame hooks; document learnings.
- Core: Adobe CC (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- AI Assist: image-/text-to-video, background cleanup/relight, upscalers, transcription/captioning, and VO tools as needed.
- File management via shared drives; tasks in standard project management tools.
- Salary range: 1,800 - 2,200 usd/month
- Discretionary bi-annual bonuses based on performance.
