Role Overview

The Senior Bookkeeper plays a vital role in managing complex bookkeeping tasks for their clients, overseeing general ledger maintenance, and ensuring accurate financial data entry and record-keeping. This role involves supporting Junior Bookkeepers, providing mentorship, and taking ownership of high-level bookkeeping tasks, including preparing data for year-end closing. Senior Bookkeepers are expected to ensure a high standard of accuracy in financial reporting and work collaboratively to improve bookkeeping processes across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all bookkeeping tasks, including general ledger maintenance and chart of accounts management.
  • Provide mentorship and review the work of Junior Bookkeepers for accuracy.
  • Ensure accurate financial data entry, transaction reconciliation, and expense categorization.
  • Prepare data for depreciation, amortization schedules, and year-end closing.
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve bookkeeping processes and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Support client onboarding by setting up financial systems and providing training as needed.

Required Skills And Experience

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, with a focus on general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Proficient in cloud-based bookkeeping software (e.g., QBO, Xero, Dext).
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, depreciation, and amortization.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and improving bookkeeping processes.

Compensation

$1,800-2,100 USD/Month.
