The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised.
The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.
In This Key Role, You Will
Carry out assigned tasks to deliver and support direct patient care, under the direction of a registered nurse, to ensure delivery of a high quality of patient care e.g.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures.
- Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Assist in the collection of routine urine/blood specimens.
- Monitor and order supplies and carry out required housekeeping duties.
- Undertake recording of patient vital signs and report results to registered staff.
- Assist in maintenance and improvement of patient mobility.
- Report observed changes in the patients physical and psychological needs.
- Carry out pre-use checks on some equipment.
- Prepare equipment and procedure trolleys as per procedure manuals.
What You'll Bring
- SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
