Responsabilities As an Underwriter, you will: Underwrite Technical Lines & Construction business for Starr in Chile (Oil, Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Utilities, Process Industries, Mining, Steel, and Pulp & Paper) and Commercial Property Insurance.Provide underwriting assistance for Technical Lines and Construction risks elsewhere in the Latin America Region, as may be required.Meet regularly with Insurance/Reinsurance brokers and Risk Managers/Insureds. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent / Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred.More than 03 years of underwriting experience in Technical Lines and Construction insurance/reinsurance.Excellent knowledge of relevant policy wordings.Extensive knowledge of the Chile insurance/reinsurance market for Technical Lines and Construction.Experience with the placement of Facultative Reinsurance for complex risks.Good understanding of natural catastrophe exposures, especially earthquake and tsunami.Detail oriented; attention to quality/accuracy.Ability to work largely unsupervised.Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflows efficiently.Effective negotiation and management skills.Computer literate in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Bi-lingual (Spanish, English)Ability to travel as may be required
