University: Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (INSERM) Country: France Deadline: 30 June 2025 The Exposome, Heredity, Cancer, and Health team at the Research Center in Epidemiology and Population Health (CESP), INSERM, is seeking applications for a postdoctoral position in molecular epidemiology. The successful candidate will contribute to research projects focused on the metabolome’s role in cancer risk, in collaboration with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). Research activities are based on large-scale cohort studies, including the EPIC and UK Biobank cohorts. Key Responsibilities – Preparation and analysis of targeted and/or untargeted metabolomics data from large cohort biospecimens – Application of multivariate statistical analyses and epidemiological models to high-dimensional data – Identification of metabolic signatures of dietary exposures (e.g., meat or alcohol consumption) – Development of epidemiological models relating exposures or metabolic signatures to chronic disease outcomes – Collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team (biostatistics, genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics) – Preparation of scientific publications, reports, and potential grant applications – Presentation of findings at scientific conferences Requirements – PhD in a relevant field (e.g., biostatistics, epidemiology, bioinformatics) – Proficiency in written and spoken scientific English – Ability to independently conduct analyses using R – Solid understanding of observational epidemiology study designs – Experience with descriptive and inferential statistical tools – Experience analyzing metabolomics data – Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team – Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Contract And Remuneration – Renewable 12-month fixed-term contract – Remuneration according to INSERM salary scales Application Procedure Interested candidates should submit a cover letter (in French or English), a detailed CV, and the names and contact details of two referees by email to gianluca.severi@inserm.fr and therese.truong@inserm.fr by 30 June 2025.
