This role drives growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction through strategic carrier relationships. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Trade Management and Development Maintain short and long-term trade strategy for import and export between Asia and LATAM with regional ocean product directors to drive growth in Asia trade Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, space allocations and services agreements to ensure cost competitiveness and reliability. Identifying new opportunities, growing existing trade lanes, and optimizing networks to increase volume and profitability. Building strong relationships and negotiating favorable rates and service levels with carriers for Asia trade. Conducting in-depth research on market trends, competition, and emerging technologies to identify risks and opportunities Network Business Development Developing and executing growth strategies and business plans to achieve volume and profitability targets for the Asia trade. Participate strategically in customer engagement. Participate in the implementation of awarded business to ensure all sold rates are backed up with the correct underlying carriers and strategy. Carrier Management Procurement and management of rates, service contracts, and accessorial updates for the associated tradeProcurement and management of allocation for Asia tradePartner with carriers to find synergies allowing Expeditors to achieve best-in-class service and pricing. Complete frequent meetings with key service providers for Asia trade to develop relationships. Field Support Ongoing engagement with Geography Leaders, Regional Pricing and Product Managers, Account Management, Sales, and District officesDevelop learning opportunities. Support & participate in carrier negotiations. Ocean Market update Qualifications College graduate bachelor’s degree in business, International Business, or Supply Chain ManagementMinimum 4 years in international freight forwarding, with a strong focus on Latin America ocean marketExcellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
